LIOG…Its Pizza Day! πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•

So I’ve decided to make my Jamaican-style homemade pizza! And honestly it’s just making a regular pizza but I used jerk sausage instead of using regular pepperoni. Gives me that jerk flavor that I absolutely love! Also the sauce is seasoned differently. I got a regular can of tomato sauce and added a little barbecue sauce and a dash a scotch bonnet pepper. I like that zesty and spicy kick.  I LOOOOOOVE peppery and spicy foods!

So in making the dough I used a  simple recipe online that I’ve always used. And it tastes pretty decent not Pizza Hut quality but pretty good. [Dough Recipe]. Typically I make the dough in the night and place it in the fridge. Weirdly I have no reason behind why I do that. It’s something I’ve always done.

So for the topping I’ve chopped up half an onion, 2 garlic pegs and a green sweet pepper. Chopped thin slices of jerk sausages. I’ve added pineapples and yes I’m allergic lol. But I can live with the minor hive breakout. I like pineapples on my pizza 😬. Let me not forget the shredded mozarella cheese. Can’t leave out the cheese.

I heated the oven at 450degrees, greased the baking pan and lightly sprinkled with cornmeal. I floured my finger tips and pressed out the dough in a circular shape. Then buttered the dough for flavor and added all my toppings.

I bake for 20mins and then add more cheese and place in over for another 10-15mins. (So that’s a total of 35mins and cooking time really just depends on your oven.)

(This photo was taken after 20mins of being in the oven, unfortunately I was starving after waiting another 10mins and forgot to take another photo lol)

It’s way easier to just order a pizza but I find that this is a really easy and fun activity to do with friends or kids. I like to cook, not all the time but I can handle myself in the kitchen. And since I am cooking spaghetti & meatball for dinner, I thought why not just make pizza for lunch and stay on the Italian themed food for the day.
